Still Playing

Here is my latest painting. I'm going to play with it a little more. It's a scene from Chester, Nova Scotia that I was going to paint for the Virtual Paintout a couple of challenges ago. I missed the deadline, but decided to do the painting anyway.

If you like detective novels, I have a recommendation. I just finished The Tin Roof Blowdown by James Lee Burke. It was very good. James Lee Burke really gives you the feel of New Orleans. He uses the language well. The man can write. I love his characters Dave Robicheaux and Clete Purcell.

Back to school tomorrow... I love it and yet I could get used to hanging out around the house with Jim, the cats and the dogs; reading, painting, talking to my mom and my sister on the phone and watching old movies.

I love this little painting, Candy. I think the trees are exquisite, the colors perfect, and it just has the watercolor "feel" (I don't know how to describe what I mean because I know this is a watercolor)...a type of looseness I never seem to get with watercolors. Just gorgeous!! I don't want you to go back to work! (Wailing ensues...)

Sherry, you always bring a chuckle. "Wailing" is perfect. Thank you for the nice comment on the painting!

I really love your painting! My Grandparents lived in Nova Scotia a very long time ago.

Thank you for the novel recommendation. Our daughter loves everything about New Orleans and it sounds like a book we would all enjoy.

I would love to hang around the house and do the same!!! Painting full-time, again, sounds so wonderful! In the future...:-)

Thank you for your very nice comments about my paintings!

Thank you, Manon. I will check back in with you. I really loved that photo.

Deb, thank you.

I hope you do check out James Lee Burke. I've read several of his novels that were set in New Orleans. I thought they were all good.

Manon, I forgot to tell you that I liked the advice you gave to Autumn Leaves about throwing paint at the canvas. That was just the right way to phrase it.
