Thank Goodness, It's Mole-Uh-Skee-nuh!

When I first saw the word "moleskine", it made me sad (kind of like when I found out that the bird I thought was a morning dove was actually a mourning dove)and I thought I would never buy a moleskine sketchbook. Then, when someone told me how to pronounce it correctly, I decided I would get one. It seems that moles no longer give their lives for the sake of art. Hooray!

Here are some little white flowers that are in our backyard. I don't know what they are called.

Oh my gosh! I thought I was the only who thought it was mole-skin! I just found out how to pronounce it a few months ago. Then I went ahead and bought one for my purse! Great minds think alike, eh?

Katherine, that's funny. I thought I was the only one:) I sure like it. I never thought of carrying it in my purse. That's a good idea. Do you use pencils or watercolor in yours?

Love these little flowers, Candy. The colors are so perfect! And by the way, I also thought it was pronounced mole skin. Sigh...Love learning something new though, teach. Thanks!

I found out how to pronounce it when I went to cheap joe's to order some art supplies. I use watercolors and also those inktense pencils in mine.

Thanks, Sherry. I'm enjoying painting the plants that are blooming right now. The catch is that Jim says while I'm out there, I should mow the lawn... Moleskine - it's an interesting word:)

Sheryl, I've never tried the inktense pencils. I should check them out.

Oh my gosh I am cracking up. That is so funny!
Lovely water color Candy and I am too happy that little moles have not sacrificed themselves for those wonderful little books!

This doesn't surprise me - Candy still thinks there are little Artesians living in the well where I get my water.

Lucinda, thank you!

Gammies, I kind of liked the idea of Artesians living in that well...

Oh, my! I have always pronounced it wrong, too! I wondered why it had such a strange name. How funny! They are amazing little books. I just bought one for my sister, and we plan to get together on Mondays and paint!

I love your flowers! Very pretty!

Hi Candy,

Love the fresh, lively flowers.

And so glad you told me... I thought it was "Mole-Skin" too. LOL!

Thank you, Deb! You and your sister are going to have so much fun. I wish my sisters lived closer to me.

Thank you, Teresa! It seems like there are so many words that I read, but it takes a while to find out the pronunciation. (Too lazy to go to the dictionary every time.) I had a heck of a time when I fell in love with quinacridone colors:)
