This is why I haven't been painting on paper

Jim and I have been painting walls. We painted the living room. We tore out our old carpet and old tile. We set tile in about a third of the living room. We've been having fun working on this project, but, boy, are we tired at the end of the day! We're going to have carpet installed in the rest of the living room. I've also taken a moment to watch the roses bloom in our backyard:)

Beautiful roses and oh what projects! I always worry when too much time goes between posts, Candy. I am so glad you are alright and having fun though. How is your dad? I imagine he isn't able to do much gardening yet. We're still getting some freezing temps out here (2 weekends ago, it was in the 80's). No wonder people get sick!

Irina, we're being rather conservative in the living room - no Candy custom walls (although one wall is a very deep purple). Jim does want me to try a mural on an outside wall. I think I will, but I'll wait until fall because the weather is going to be heating up very quickly. We have the perfect wall for it. It's huge and has no windows. If it doesn't turn out, I can paint it white and start over.

Sherry, it's Spring Break here, so we decided it was the perfect time to work on our project. Besides, my mom is coming for a visit next week. We're excited for her to see our new living room. Dad is doing great, but you're right - it's still too cold for gardening. They had some strange weather, too. A couple of weeks ago, it was hot for a day or two. Now it's cold again. My sister said she thought that warm weather spell was spring and summer for the year and now it's winter again:)

Painting walls can be so much of fun in spite of the hard work any designs you attempted?.. using walls as canvasses are so very challenging and it has been my passion:-)..

Tracey, thank you. I will post some pictures when we finish. We ran into a little problem with the adhesive we used. We've used pre-mixed adhesive before and it was fine. This time, some of the tiles are coming loose. We're using thin set on those tiles now. We're not going to be able to grout before Mom gets here.

Katherine, thank you. This has been a great spring for our garden. We're happy with the painting part of the project. This was the best paint we've ever used. I think it's Olympic.

Teresa, thank you. I saw your painting of the lavender. It's gorgeous!

Randi, thank you. Yours will get there. It just takes a little time.

Pad, I haven't been brave enough to try any patterns, but I have used some bold colors in parts of the house:)
