Life is Beautiful

The Life Is Beautiful Festival was held here last weekend.  We could hear the music at our house.  They had a lot of cool things going on - music and art.  Artists were allowed to choose spaces like walls and rooftops to work on.  We rode our bikes downtown on Sunday morning so we could see some of the murals.  There was a huge one on a wall of a hotel that was closed down 2 years ago.  We tried to get over to see it, but it was blocked off.  We didn't buy tickets because we didn't think there were any groups we were interested in hearing.  Kanye West's music isn't my thing, but Arctic Monkeys might be okay...  Anyway, I'm posting the photos that Jim took of what we could see.  We'll make another trip this weekend when things are open again.  There were some really cool signs and interesting murals.  Check it out.

I think downtown Las Vegas has funk value.  What do you think?

Candy, I had no idea that there is such a festival in your area. Great murals and your hubby's photos are wonderful.

Being a bicycle rider, I admire you for riding your bike to see them.

Hi, Pat! They do look fun. I like the fish, too.

Mary, thank you from Jim. I think this is the second year of the festival and it seems like it was a success. Jim and I started riding our bikes a few months ago. We love it. It makes us feel like kids again.

Glad to hear I'm funky, Baby!

Katherine, it is really cool. There are some more projects that will be opening up this week.

Gros bisous ☂

I really love the murals, they really brighten a place up and allow for creativity in new places. We are just back from Bristol in England and the city is renowned for its graffitti/street art, I love it. They ahve a huge graffitti festival there every year.

Interesting and professional murals. I wonder how they got that high up to paint and did not lose courage and creativity on the way..

Hi, Irina! I wondered the same thing. I told Jim that I wished that we could have been downtown when they were painting. I would have loved to see how they did it.
