The Gratitude Friday Club

Diana Strinati Baur came up with the idea of The Gratitude Friday Club. Please check out her blog. The link is on the right side of my blog under "More Blogs" creativestructures.blogspot.com For some reason, I can't get the link to come up in this post. It's a terrific idea - each Friday you list the things you are grateful for. Here are some of the things for which I am grateful.

I am grateful for a loving husband who enjoys many of the things I enjoy (and indulges me in the ones he doesn't give a hoot about:)

I get to talk to my mom, dad and two sisters often and see them once or twice a year.

I have 4 cats and 2 dogs who are full of love and also create mischief to spice up our lives.

I can paint and I'm getting better at it the more I do it.

I have access to beautiful art and a little glimpse into the lives of the most interesting people all over the world through the technology of the blog.

I am grateful to the person who invented air conditioning.

I am grateful that we were approved for a solar energy rebate this week. Woohoo! We will now begin construction on our solar power system.

I am grateful for good friends.

I don't remember learning to read, but I must have learned when I was 4 or 5. So I'm grateful to the person who taught me to read. That would be Mrs. Sislo or Mrs. Bubalo my kindergarten and first grade teachers. Reading opens up the world.

I am grateful that today is Friday. It's my favorite day of the week.

What a lovely post, Candy. I also adore reading and have been doing it since the age of 5 too. I remember hanging over the front seat as we drove (dating myself, aren't I?) and reading every sign that we passed, looking for affirmation from my parents, and literally driving them nuts with my new-found skill. Anyway, it is nice to know someone is getting better the more they paint. Not so for me. I do believe that natural ability just simply has to be present. I'll never get beyond the juvenile stages.

Thank you for stopping by, Autumn Leaves. If you enjoy art, don't stop. Paint for the joy of it and you'll see the improvement.

Hi Candy,

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have enjoyed browsing yours.... you've got some beautiful photos here and the portrait of Tweedles (unusual name!) is looking good.

Anonymous, Jim is still looking for friends for you. He promises to come up with some really good ones.
