Gratitude Friday: She's Here!

My mom is here visiting from North Carolina. She hasn't lived here in 17 years, but when she visits, the phone rings constantly and she's busy running around with old friends. It's so much fun having her here. She really revs things up for us. We went for a nice walk this morning. She may be a little older than I am (I'm not allowed to reveal her age), but I'm the one who has to try to keep up with her. A couple of years ago, we had a pedometer war. Guess who the winner was? It's like being around the energizer bunny.

I'm very grateful that she flies out twice a year for a visit. She's my mom and my buddy. Jim is crazy about her. The cats and dogs love her, too. Life is very, very good!

Yeesh, Candy! You've hit the mother lode in your gene pool! Your mom is a stunning beauty herself! She looks like she is so much fun, truly! So glad she makes it out to visit you. I cannot imagine how you get so much done with teaching and spending time with your mom and home improvement projects and Jim and painting and and and...Whew! I think I'm tired!! Can't wait to see what comes out of your studio next!

Thank you, Sherry! My mom is a lot of fun! Thanks for making me feel better about not getting all of my art projects done:) I hope you're enjoying your job. I know you're enjoying your art!

Thanks, Deb! Mom is going to get a kick out of hearing that you said she's gorgeous:)

Tsk...tsk...how soon they forget. I believe I was the winner of the Pedometer Wars (I was also the one who bailed out the following year, but that is beside the point...)

Gammies, we'll just have to have another Pedometer War in 2010 to determine the Super-Duper Winner.

Cindi, I love your paintings. I feel like I'm too tentative in some of my paintings - afraid to put down real darks. I have to force myself. It's something I'm working on. I know you said you have trouble with your darks sometimes, too. Well, I sure can't tell. Your colors are rich and you're nailing the darks! Paint on!
