The British Open

We watched quite a bit of the British Open and I have to say we were completely charmed by the winner. I usually root for Phil Mickelson. I also like John Daley, but I will gladly add "Shrek" to my list of favorites. He's gracious, poised and loves the game. I would love to walk the St. Andrews old course. I don't play golf, but I think that is such a beautiful place with a wonderful sense of tradition and history.

Ok, Candy. You've mentioned the one sport to watch on tv that I find more boring than watching paint dry! LOLOL

Well, if you ever get over there, I'll send Paul with you. That's where I want to spread his ashes.

I tried talking to you guys yesterday, but I ran out of time, so I had to delete.

Sherry, the cool thing about golf is that they play in such beautiful places and you don't have to watch every minute. You can do something else while you watch. I used to like to hear the commentators when they would practically whisper. They don't do that anymore. Now they talk like everyone else. I agree it's not action packed:)

Gammies, we do want to go there someday and we'll take Paul.

"Fraid I'm not a golfer - and know next to nothing about the game - but I'd sure love to visit St. Andrews! Sigh... what gorgeous scenery.

Teresa, it's definitely a beautiful place. We want to visit someday. I tried playing golf a few times. It was fun, but I like just walking around the golf course. (It has nothing to do with the fact that I shot an 86 on 9 holes the first time I played. That is a score a normal person would have on 18 holes. A friend told me to say I shot an 86 and leave out the part of the story about how many holes it was on:))

Could have been worse - could have been an 86 on 1 hole...

Jimmm, don't worry. Someday you'll make it to the bigs (Barkers Island).

Gammies, that's a very positive attitude.
