165 Colors Tested!

Testing these colors has been fun.  It makes you feel like a kid who got the big box of crayons for her birthday.  When I was a kid, it was 64 colors.  Now it's 120!  Anyhow, all I can say is YIKES!  The next time I need to buy some paint, how will I ever be able to choose?  I still have 73 colors to test!  I think this will help me avoid mistakes when I buy online...if I ever make up my mind:)

I can't remember if I told you that last year I read a book by Winston Churchill.  It was great, but it took me a long time.  Jim said I went to bed with Winston Churchill every night for 6 months:)  I still have some books of his that I want to read, but I'm reading The Last Lion by William Manchester right now.  It's a biography of Churchill from birth to 1932.  This is going slowly, too, but I'm offsetting it with little breaks reading about another Winnie.  I'm reading The Complete Tales of Winnie the Pooh.  The illustrations are by Ernest H. Shepard, who was the original illustrator.  There's nothing like classic Winnie the Pooh.

Milne inscribed this in Shepard's copy of Winnie-the-Pooh:

"When I am gone
Let Shepard decorate my tomb
and put (if there is room)
Two pictures on the stone:
Piglet from page a hundred and eleven,
And Pooh and Piglet walking (157) . . .
And Peter, thinking that they are my own,
Will welcome me to heaven."

Happy Saturday!

The ability to see color is such a blessing. Glad you're having so much fun with your tests.

Interesting reading choices; they sound wonderful. And thank you for sharing that sweet quote!

Loved reading that inscription, Candy. How whimsical was Milne? Color testing sounds both fun and onerous. Oy! Glad you are finding it helpful though.

Hi, Sherry! It's definitely fun. I hope you had a nice bike ride - on different kind than the one I ride:)

Jolie publication.

gros bisous

Hi, Martine! Your story about your grandmother reminds me of when my sisters and I were little girls. Our grandfather was a truck driver for Texaco. There was some kind of machine in the office that used huge rolls of paper. It couldn't use the entire roll, so there was quite a bit of paper left on the rolls when they had to be changed. The guy in the office used to give the leftover rolls to my grandfather. He would bring them home and we would spread them on the floor. He would show us how to draw horses, dogs, cats and other animals. He was an artist and he had such patience with us. We learned a lot and had so much fun!

Thank you for commenting and bringing back sweet memories for me.

Love the quote, and I highly recommend the entire Pooh series. I even read the Tao of Pooh, and the Te(?) of Piglet. Those books are not childrens' stories, they have great messages for everybody. Oh, but I admire your dedication to the Winston Churchill book. You are far braver than I!

Hi, Katherine! I've always loved Pooh and I've recently fallen in love with Churchill. I have to admit that I don't get very many pages read each night. I fall asleep:)
