What a Nice Thing to Do

My blogger friend, Autumn Leaves (Sherry) gave me this award. Check out her blog Of Mice and Men and Cabbages and Kings. The link is at the right side of my blog.

Thank you, Sherry! You are very kind.

According to the rules, I am supposed to share 7 things about myself and then pass the award along to 7 other bloggers. Here are 7 things you may not know about me.

1. My sister, Tammy, is a dancer. My mom and dad can both dance beautifully. As for me? I can't dance, don't ask me:) How did that happen?

2. After I retire, I'm going on the road in a rock band with my granddaughters. Jim will be our roadie.

3. I may be the only woman in the United States who hated the movie Titanic. I know hate is a strong word. I really mean it.

4. I used to be afraid of almost everything - talking in front of a group of people, driving, being absent from school, going to a school dance, not being invited to a school dance, doing things alone, etc. As I've gotten older the fear has gone away.

5. The only kinds of meat I eat are fish and poultry. I haven't eaten any other meat in over twelve years (except for two times I ate food that I didn't know had beef in it until after I took a bite. Then I didn't eat any more of it.) Eventually, I would like to eliminate all types of meat from my diet.

6. I love animals. I can't stand it when people don't care for their animals properly.

7. I can sing along with most of the songs from musicals prior to 1975 - everything from Fred Astaire movies to Jesus Christ Superstar. I'm not too sure Jim appreciates my ability. There have been several mornings he has been awakened by my thunderous rendition of Oklahoma.

You are most welcome, Candy. I love reading the 7 things! But at least you have talents! I used to love to sing but have been asked not to do that anymore. LOLOL Do your granddaughters have a rock band?

Hi, Sherry! Don't be so sure about my talents:) Jim isn't exactly thrilled when I sing in the morning:) The girls are still a little young. Jade is only seven, but she can definitely carry a tune. Ivory is 3 and she likes to do whatever Jade does. Lucy is only 1, but shows real talent at pounding spoons on tables. Grandma has high hopes.

Happy Birthday, Dissy! I wasn't sure how old you are now, so I asked Dennis and he said you are turning 65 - congratulations!

Congratulations on your award Candy!
I enjoyed learning more about you...and I am with you on #5.
Thanks for keeping our quarterback in your prayers :)

Oh my! 7, 3, and 1?? Well, sounds like there is definitely a drummer in the making, at least. You just may get to do that road tour with them after all!

That was highly entertaining reading!
LOL!!

About post #

2: my husband plays in a band so even though we're not retired we spend a lot of time on the road (all within a couple of hours driving time of our home) and play a lot of dances ... which is fun!

3: I couldn't agree more. Yuck. I received a Titanic Collector's Edition DVD as a Christmas gift one year... it still has the plastic wrap on it.

4: You know what they say, "The older, the bolder" !

7: "thunderous rendition" ?? LOL!!!

Gammies, Don't forget Dennis is the guy who says things like, "Aunt Alice and Mom look exactly alike. You sure can tell they're sisters." Great, except for the fact that Aunt Alice is Dennis' dad's sister:) I don't believe Dennis is the right person to ask how old I am. At least that shouldn't be the first question you ask him. Start out with, "Who is Candy?" (To avoid confusion, remind him that his sister's name is Sandy.)

Thanks, Tracey! I used to watch a lot of professional football, but I've given that up. Maybe I'll start watching college games, especially since you said that quarterback is a nice kid.

Sherry, these girls have a lot of talent:)

Teresa, I think it's so cool that you and your husband are on the road a lot with his band. After the rest of my group grows up, we'll have to have a jam session with your husband's band.

I'm thrilled to find someone else who hated Titanic.

We sound a lot alike! Though, I can't sing very well, and I do love to dance. I was in a Mom's tap group...it was so much fun. I wasn't that good, but loved it. I didn't like the story of the Titanic, but I loved the look of it... the romance and the art.

Was it your Birthday? Happy Birthday, if so!

I LOVE to tap dance, Deb!

Deb, yes, it was my birthday on Monday. Thanks! I don't sing well, but I like to sing and I can carry a tune. I love tap dancing, but I just can't do it. I was a five-year-old failure in tap class, but my younger sister (AKA Anonymous) has wings on her feet:)
