We get up at 4:30 a.m. I feed the dogs and cats and then we take the dogs for a walk. This morning, Jim didn't wake up at 4:30. It's so seldom that either of us sleeps in that I tried to be very quiet and keep the dogs quiet so he could sleep a few minutes longer. I brought my moleskine sketchbook and paints out to the kitchen. If the dogs know I'm right there, they're less likely to wake Jim up. Because the sun wasn't up yet, I couldn't go out to paint in the yard. I ended up doing this little sketch of strawberries and blueberries. My blueberries look a little anemic, so I'll go back in and darken them.

Pretty strawberries! So cheerful and happy! AND I LOVE the new look of your blog! Love the watercolor background! So pretty!
Very cheery! I'm glad you had some nice me-time. :)
I love your painting and can't believe anyone gets up at 4:30 by choice!

Thank you, Lucinda! I'm having fun playing with color.
Katherine, thank you! It was nice. Then we had a nice walk. The sun was coming up and the sky was spectacular.
Sheryl, thank you! We get up early so we can walk the dogs before school. We go to bed early to compensate:)
Beautiful strawberries.
Will you repost once you've adjusted the blueberries, please ? :)
I think this is a fabulous little watercolor, Candy. Hope you post it again when the blueberries have darkened a bit! LOL I can't believe how fast you did this! I spend days on any one piece and never achieve this level of loveliness.
Thank you, Pat! I'll post another photo:)
Sherry, thank you! The cool thing about working in the sketchbook is that the pressure is off. You can try different things and not worry if you're not turning out a masterpiece every time. It's just fun.
It is a marvelous way to start your day and this is looking juicy!
The watercolor is charming, Candy! You are a good wife for letting your hubby sleep.
(I think everything looks anemic at that hour, right!)
